| This 7.400
s.f. house is sited on the sage covered hillside above the golf course
at Red Sky Ranch, outside Wolcott, Colorado. The house has been
designed to emulate the "Southwestern Territorial" style of
architecture, which makes it unique at Red Sky Ranch. The house
has a rich, hand applied stucco finish with integral color, a
cedar shingled roof with low slope copper standing seam accents ,
and generous wrap-around
porches. The house stretches
across the hillside, broadly opening to a courtyard at the south and
capturing views to the north. The design theory started with an original stone home with minimal detail and parged stone walls. As the ranching family became more successful, the home was expanded with full Southwestern detailing and connected to the original stone homestead with a glass and timber gallery. |
